Pure Water for the World, Inc. Announces New President and Members of Board of Directors

Pure Water for the World, Inc. (PWW) is pleased to announce the appointment of Randall M. Thompson as its new Board of Directors President and Tony Gilmore, Bob Mohr, Michael Reed, and Charlene Seward as new Board members.

Randall Thompson is CEO of Copper Mountain Capital, a money management firm with over $100 million in assets in Houston, Texas. He has more than 20 years of experience in financial and operation management.

Thompson first became involved with Pure Water for the World in 2009, representing his Rotary Club (Rotary Club of Willowbrook, Houston, TX), on a volunteer trip to Haiti. He traveled with PWW to Haiti, again, to help after the 2010 earthquake, joining PWW’s Board of Directors later that year.

Randall Thompson has witnessed, first-hand, the suffering and death caused by cholera and other preventable waterborne diseases. He has also been inspired by the profound gratitude expressed by families who have experienced the life-changing effects of safe water solutions. His personal experiences have strengthened his resolve to support Pure Water for the World in reaching more children and families with safe water.

“Pure Water for the World’s vision is a world where all people have safe drinking water,” states Thompson. “I am very excited to continue this important work, thankful to the Board for giving me this opportunity, and am looking forward to taking the next steps toward our vision.”

In the fall of 2014, Randall Thompson was a finalist for the Global Community Impact Award as a result of his extensive volunteer and fundraising work with PWW. He has personally raised the funds to support safe water solutions for entire villages in Haiti. Thompson has also authored a three part series on the economics of clean water, linking the impact of safe water with lifting families out of poverty.

“Randy has a unique set of skills he brings to Pure Water for the World,” shares Carolyn Crowley Meub, Executive Director of the organization. “He is passionate about improving the lives of others and has the leadership skills to take us to the next level. I am thrilled that Randy is so committed and willing to share his many talents to make this an even better, more impactful organization.”

Randall Thompson succeeds Rick Manganello as President of the Board. He resides in Houston, Texas with his wife, Amy, where they are active members of John Wesley United Methodist Church. They enjoy spending free time with their two grown children and grandchild.

Pure Water for the World, Inc. also welcomes Tony Gilmore, Bob Mohr, Michael Reed and Charlene Seward as new Board members. Each brings experience, passion and a commitment to helping children and families in Haiti and Latin America gain sustainable access to life’s most basic necessity…safe, clean water.

PWW’s Board of Directors is instrumental to the organization, playing an integral role in ensuring its long-term sustainability, growth and success. For a full Board of Directors list and additional information about PWW, visit www.purewaterfortheworld.org.
