Appeal for tents for Haiti
Many of you have generously asked what you can do during this emergency to support PWW’s work in Haiti.
Virtually all of our in-country staff have been sleeping outside since the earthquake rendered their homes inhabitable. As this situation will continue for some time, we at PWW need to provide tents to our staff and their families. This need is urgent given the daily stress, danger, and health risks of living in the street. The upcoming rainy season adds another layer of urgency to this need. Our staff must have safe shelter in order for them to continue the vitally important work of PWW.
We are in the process of purchasing thirty family size tents at a cost of $350 per tent. In addition, food and fuel continue to be difficult to reliably obtain and we have been asked to help in this area as well.
